Community Involvement Having a mooring at Burghfield Island isn’t a “park-it-and-leave-it” affair. Being a community run club, membership requires your involvement in the management and maintenance of our island. This is a mooring where members interact with each other, assist each other, and help the island look its best. This is a mooring where you can bring your lifetime of experiences and expertise, whatever they may be, and share them with your fellow boaters. This is a mooring where off-season socials provide an opportunity to visit your boat and meet up with like-minded people in the club house for a meal or a drink to liven up the cold winter nights. This is a mooring where cookie bakes and summer parties are an occasion to bring friends and family together to do something different. This is a mooring where you will be involved in maintaining the grounds during the winter months, whilst giving something back to the community at the same time. This is a mooring where someone is always there to provide help or advice, whenever you may need it. This is anything but a “park-it-and-leave-it” mooring, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
If this sounds like your sort of mooring, we’d love to hear from you. Just head over to our contacts page and provide us with a few details and we’ll get back to you.
